Pope's Visit to Sri Lanka



13th to 15th January

The much anticipated apostolic journey of His Holiness the Pope Francis will take place from 13th to 15th January 2015 gathering the delighted Sri Lankans in masses to witness this significant  event.  After landing in Sri Lanka at 9.00 a.m. on the 13th morning, the Holy father Pope Francis will traverse in a motorcade via old Negombo Road to Colombo  attracting  the public  to experience the esteemed sight of the  spiritual icon.
The Celebration of Holy Eucharist and Canonization of Blessed Joseph Vaz  in Galle Face Green Colombo will take place  at  8.30-a.m. on 14th  January inviting masses of devotees from all ends of the country and the region. The Holy Father Pope Francis will then travel to the Madhu Shrine in Mannar and conduct Marian Prayer at the Shrine of our lady of Rosary of Madhu at 3.30 p.m.  On 15th January 2015, he will then depart  the Island bringing the apostolic journey to Sri Lanka to an end.
