Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau welcomes Dawn Princes: a luxury vessel with 1800 tourists on board

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, along with the officials of Sri Lanka Port Authority, welcomed the vessel ‘Dawn Princes’ today (26th Thursday), at a brief ceremony held in the Colombo harbor. This luxury carrier, owned by the USA company Princes Cruises, had more than 1800 tourists on board, consisted of the Australia, New Zealand and US nationals.

The local excursion tour operator Ceylon Roots was thereafter busy with taking tourists in the ship to the prearranged destinations; Kandy, Pinnawala, Galle and Colombo City Tour. By 7 p.m. today, the vessel is scheduled to leave for Mumbai, its next destination.

Arcadia has 14 decks inclusive of a swimming pool, an auditorium, a gym and a restaurant. Having set sail from the Australia on the 26th of August this year. According to the SLPA officials, more than 11 such luxury carriers had already been programmed to tie up in Colombo by the end of 2013.
