Kandy Esala Perahara - July 23rd to 2nd August

The most magnificent festivals is the Kandy Esala Perahara. A spectacular medieval day pagent is held for 10 nights with Kandyan dancers and Drummers in colorful traditional costumes. Kandyan Chieftains in medieval court dress, more than one hundred caparisoned elephants whip crackers, torch bearers etc. It is an unforgettable experience.
